Job Description

  1. - Lead and manage complex workplace investigations, partnering with internal stakeholders including but not limited to HR Business Partners, Legal, HR Compliance, and drafting comprehensive investigative reports.
  2. - Provide guidance, education, and coaching to people leaders on employee relations best practices and effective employee communication techniques.
  3. - In partnership with management team, assign cases to team members and review investigative resolutions upon closure to ensure sound documentation and closure procedures were followed.
  4. - Provide guidance and recommendations to people managers on a variety of subjects, including but not limited to performance management, involuntary terminations, conflict resolution, policy and procedure interpretation.
  5. - Recommend appropriate courses of action to resolve conflicts and issues effectively and consistently across the organization, creating and monitoring aftercare plans through completion.
  6. - At the direction of ER leadership, help design and/or deliver ER-related training programs for various stakeholder groups which may also include facilitation of ER programs in person or virtually.
  7. - Identify operational gaps, recommending and implementing process improvements to enhance the ER division's overall effectiveness and efficiency.
  8. - Serve as an escalation point within the ER team for Employee Relations investigations and requests for guidance.
  9. - Appropriately assess risk, demonstrating consideration of Maximus values by applying sound ethical judgment, escalating, managing and reporting issues timely and appropriately.
  10. - Utilize metrics and data to identify trends and take steps to address employee behaviors proactively in collaboration with HR Business Partners and business leaders.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in related field required, advanced degree or professional designation preferred.

- Minimum of 8-10 years related HR experience required.

- Advanced knowledge of human resources practices, techniques, and standards.

- Extensive demonstrated experience conducting workplace investigations and training team members on processes and practices.

- Strong organizational and people management skills.

- Ability to analyze data, evaluate facts, handle sensitive information, multitask multiple investigations.

- Strong negotiation/influencing, problem-solving, oral and written communication skills required.

- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Experience with Service Contract Act (SCA) populations preferred.

- Ability to manage high level of confidentiality and experience handling PII and PHI.
