We are seeking a proactive Manager - EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) to develop, implement, and enforce health and safety plans and policies. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with legal guidelines, promoting a culture of safety, and minimizing risks for all employees and contractors. You will be a key figure in conducting training, monitoring compliance, investigating accidents, and providing recommendations for continuous improvement.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Policy & Risk Management:
- Develop and implement safety policies, procedures, and a site-specific HSE plan to ensure compliance with legal regulations and industry standards.
- Conduct and review all contractors risk assessments to identify potential hazards on the construction site. Develop strategies to mitigate these risks.
- Training & Audits:
- Organize and monitor safety training sessions for all contractors site personnel to ensure they are aware of safety protocols and procedures.
- Organize regular site inspections and safety walk-throughs to monitor compliance with regulations and company policies. Identify and record unsafe practices and conditions, and take corrective actions.
- Conduct regular internal safety audits and share reports with vendors for compliance.
- Incident Investigation & Reporting:
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses to determine causes and implement preventive measures.
- Prepare detailed reports on findings and recommendations.
- Compliance & Documentation:
- Ensure that construction activities comply with BOCWA / local, state regulations. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of safety legislation and industry standards.
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans and procedures, ensuring all personnel are trained.
- Maintain safety documents as per SOP, and keep detailed records of safety inspections, training sessions, and incident reports.
- Collaboration & Communication:
- Conduct regular safety meetings with the contractor team to discuss issues and improvements.
- Work closely with clients and contractors to ensure safety measures are integrated into project planning and execution.
- Promote a culture of safety awareness and continuous improvement among all site personnel.
