Job Description

About Global Merchant and Network Product Team

It begins with a Card Member using an American Express Card at one of our millions of proprietary Merchants around the world – then processing that transaction and getting the merchant paid is up to us. The Global Merchant and Network Product team is at the heart of the proprietary transaction process. We power billions of transactions leading to merchants being paid and continuing to welcome American Express cardmembers and their cards.

The Global Merchant and Network Capability Delivery team works to deliver digital products and services for merchants, network acquirers and issuers, and payment facilitators such as ATM/debit, point of sale authorizations & submissions, transaction pricing, disputes, and settlement that meet the evolving demands of our global payment network. The wide range of solutions we develop enable the enterprise to attract new customers, operate in new markets, react to regulatory demands, and process new/emerging types of payments. A role in this team will challenge you to broaden your business solution design, agile products, data stewardship, quality assurance, and operational readiness skills while incorporating an industry perspective in a collaborative, diverse, and inclusive team environment.

Job Description

We are looking for a talented Product Owner to join the Global Merchant and Network Product team in delivering efficient, effective, predictable, and compliant transaction processing. You will work among high performing product, process, and engineering teams. You will have a passion for both technology and business strategy and an eye on industry trends. Collaborating with our partners you will develop product roadmaps and define quality features that optimize shareholder value while solving customer problems. You will enjoy being challenged in a fun, collaborative, diverse, and inclusive team environment.

  • Deliver product outcomes across the lifecycle, managing cross-team dependencies by maintaining strong collaboration across stakeholders.
  • Own stakeholder communication and maintain accurate, up-to-date process documentation.
  • Lead Agile product execution by defining high-quality features, clear acceptance criteria, and driving UAT and release validation, while effectively influencing senior stakeholders across a matrixed environment.
  • Potentially leading, coaching and developing a team of Product Owners, with accountability for performance management, coaching, and talent development.

Qualifications

  • Proven ability to execute product vision, strategy, and prioritized backlog.
