Role And Team Overview

The Manager - Digital Delivery is a key leadership and delivery role responsible for the oversight and coordination of all Virgin Atlantic (VA) Digital activities within the Delta Technology Hub (DTH) in Bengaluru. This highly visible role acts as the primary point of contact between the UK-based Virgin Atlantic Digital teams and the India-based development teams. The role ensures that all DTH-based digital scrum teams are effectively supported, managed, and aligned to deliver front-end, back-end, and full-stack solutions in accordance with Agile methodologies.

The postholder will collaborate closely with the Delta Technology Hub (DTH) Bengaluru leadership team to foster a cohesive and productive working environment. Responsibilities include overseeing recruitment processes, managing people and performance, coordinating equipment and onboarding needs, and acting as a local representative of the Digital team. The role will also be accountable for activity reporting and act as the point of escalation for operational issues.

This role requires a blend of people leadership, technical leadership, operational management, and Agile delivery experience to ensure the successful execution of digital projects within a collaborative and dynamic environment.

What You Need To Succeed (Minimum Qualifications)

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS)

  • BE / B Tech or ME / M Tech, preferably in a technical or scientific field, with 14 or more years of experience in IT project-based environment, or any equivalent combination of experience, education, and / or training is required
  • 5 Years of proven experience in software engineering resource management or a related role, with a strong understanding of Software development and support processes and Agile methodologies.
  • Must be technically astute to whiteboard out solutions to articulate design.
  • Proven experience in leading teams across front-end, back-end, full-stack development and Mobile App Development.
  • Experienced in Leading AI teams with strong foundation on Machine Learning and Generative AI.
  • Strong leadership and people management experience, ideally in a multi-location or global environment
  • Demonstrable experience in stakeholder management and cross-functional team collaboration
  • In-depth understanding of Agile frameworks (Scrum, SAFe, Kanban)
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in Team Leadership: Managed, mentored, coached and developed teams, fostering a collaborative and creative work environment
  • Experience in Resource Allocation, Capacity Planning & Resource utilization
  • Experience in Performance Management by providing regular performance feedback, recognizing achievements and addressing areas for improvement.
  • Strong experience in leading diversified software development teams (Android/IOS development, AI, Full Stack, etc)
  • Strong understanding quality and security practices.
  • Experience with automation of quality, compliance, and testing frameworks (BDD/TDD).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
  • Knowledge of industry best practices and emerging trends in IT engineering resource management.
  • Experience in Team Leadership: Managed, mentored, coached and developed teams, fostering a collaborative and creative work environment

  • Understanding of various technology stacks and well versed with latest development in Software Development, AI/ML
  • Strong knowledge of Cloud (AWS/Azure) is an added advantage
