Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the geotechnical design process for infrastructure projects such as foundations, retaining structures, embankments, slopes, tunnels, and underground structures.
  • Review and interpret soil investigation reports, laboratory data, and field testing results.
  • Perform geotechnical analysis including slope stability, bearing capacity, settlement, liquefaction, and ground improvement methods.
  • Prepare design calculations, specifications, drawings, and technical reports.
  • Provide geotechnical inputs during the planning, pre-bid, and execution phases of projects.
  • Coordinate with civil/structural design teams, site teams, and clients to ensure integrated design solutions.
  • Ensure designs comply with IS codes, IRC, Eurocode, AASHTO, and project-specific standards.
  • Manage design documentation, quality control, and timely delivery of geotechnical deliverables.
  • Mentor junior engineers and review their work for technical accuracy and completeness.
  • Support project approvals, client presentations, and regulatory submissions as needed.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering and M.E./M.Tech in Geotechnical Engineering (mandatory).
  • 8–12 years of experience in geotechnical design, preferably with infrastructure projects (e.g., highways, metros, railways, tunnels, power plants).
  • Proficient in using geotechnical design software such as PLAXIS, GEO5, Settle3, SLOPE/W, LPILE, SAFE, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of soil mechanics, ground improvement techniques, and foundation systems.
  • Familiarity with geotechnical investigation methods and interpretation of test results.
  • Experience with design project management and interdisciplinary coordination.
