About The Role

As a Manager of Data Science within the Procurement & Supply Chain COE, you will support global teams through analytics, digital transformation, and process improvements. Your work will drive efficiency, automation, and insight generation across Lonza's global network.

What You Will Do

Analytics & Data Transparency

  • Consolidate global Procurement and Supply Chain data.
  • Support analytics systems, models, and reporting tools.
  • Maintain dashboards, KPIs, and databases.
  • Work with internal/external teams on analytics use cases.
  • Use SQL, R, Python for insights.
  • Streamline reporting and remove inefficiencies.

Process, Systems & Tools Management

  • Support digital tools and technologies evaluation and implementation.
  • Scout market innovations in AI, predictive analytics, automation.
  • Support SOP, policy, and process development.
  • Manage access control and system administration tasks.

Stakeholder Management

  • Engage Procurement, Supply Chain, Finance, and global functions.
  • Translate business needs into technical requirements.
  • Lead onboarding and training for tools and processes.

Project Management

  • Support global projects for system/process enhancement.
  • Track tasks and timelines.
  • Conduct data validation and testing pre-deployment.
  • Ensure system/process adoption.

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree (IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related).
  • 510 years in data analytics, business/financial acumen, big data, ML, database management.

Skills

  • Strong analytical, technical, and IT skills.
  • Hands-on with SAP (ERP, BW, Lumira), Power BI.
  • Experienced with R, Python, SAS, MATLAB.
  • Strong data modeling and database understanding.
  • Knowledge of procurement and supply chain preferred.
  • Strong communication, agility, problem solving, and project management.
