About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Securities Research Manager
We are seeking an experienced Credit Portfolio and Relationship Management professional with 10-12 years of experience across credit analysis, portfolio management, and client relationship management within Corporate / Wholesale / Commercial Banking. The role requires strong expertise in credit underwriting, portfolio monitoring, risk management, and stakeholder engagement, along with the ability to support business development and manage teams/workstreams. The incumbent will work closely with relationship managers, credit officers, and product partners to ensure prudent risk management while supporting client growth objectives.
In this role, you will:
Credit & Portfolio Management:
- Manage and monitor a portfolio of corporate borrowers, ensuring ongoing assessment of credit quality and risk exposure
- Conduct comprehensive credit analysis, including financial statement analysis, cash flow modelling, and risk assessment
- Prepare and review credit appraisals, underwriting memos, and internal credit documentation
- Perform ongoing portfolio surveillance, including covenant monitoring, early warning signal identification, and watchlist reviews
- Support internal and external rating analysis and monitor rating migrations
- Participate in periodic portfolio reviews, stress analysis, and risk reporting
Relationship Management & Business Support:
- Support relationship management teams in maintaining and deepening client relationships
- Participate in internal interactions, renewals, and discussions related to credit facilities and risk positioning
- Balance credit risk considerations with relationship and business objectives
- Partner with product teams to support cross‑sell and business development initiatives across banking products
- Contribute to client strategy discussions and transaction structuring from a credit perspective
Product & Transaction Exposure:
- Work on a wide range of corporate banking products, including:
- Term Loans
- Working Capital Facilities (Revolving Credit / Cash Credit / Overdraft)
- Syndicated Revolving and Term Loan Facilities
- Specialized / Structured Financing
- Global Receivables and Trade Finance
- Equipment Financing
- Acquisition / Event‑driven Financing
Stakeholder & Team Management:
- Engage with multiple stakeholders including Relationship Managers, Credit Officers, Product Partners, Risk, and Legal teams
- Manage work allocation, review deliverables, and provide guidance to junior team members
- Support team building, coaching, and quality control to ensure high standards of output
- Manage multiple priorities and deliverables in a fast‑paced environment
Required Qualifications:
5+ years of Securities Research industry experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
2+ years of Leadership experience
5+ years of hands‑on experience in credit analysis, credit research, underwriting, debt advisory and portfolio monitoring in a Banking/ Financial set-up
- Atleast 1-2 years of experience in client‑facing roles into relationship management, preferably involving selling or supporting banking products
- Strong understanding of credit risk management, underwriting standards, and portfolio monitoring practices
- Experience working within Corporate Banking, Wholesale Banking, or Commercial Banking environments
- Graduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field
- Professional certifications (CA, CFA, MBA, FRM) preferred
