Experience:

Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in managing construction projects

Organization Background:

Vicharta Samuday Samarthan Manch (VSSM) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the holistic development of nomadic, denotified, and marginalized communities. Our key projects include the development of educational campus, housing projects, and the VSSM City Centre.

We are looking for a Construction Manager who can independently oversee projects, lead the engineering team, coordinate with contractors and external agencies, ensure quality standards, and deliver projects on time and within budget. The role reports directly to the Director.

Key Role and Responsibilities:

Oversee all ongoing construction projects and ensure smooth execution.

Supervise the work of the engineering team and site staff to ensure adherence to project plans, timelines, and structural safety standards.

Ensure execution of work as per approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.

Coordinate with architects, contractors, engineers, site supervisors, and vendors for seamless project execution.

Lead and mentor the engineering team, delegating responsibilities effectively.

Negotiate with external agencies and contractors to obtain optimal quotes and services.

Review, verify, and put forward the contractor bills against BOQ (Bill of Quantities), project milestones, and actual work completed for approval of Director.

Manage tendering processes, including preparing tender documents, evaluating bids, and recommending the best vendors/contractors.

Ensure timely, efficient, and cost-effective completion of projects.

Provide regular updates and progress reports to the Director.

Requirements:

Proven experience in managing end-to-end construction projects.

Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities.

Excellent project management and organizational skills.

Effective written and verbal communication skills in English and Gujarati.

High ethical standards and commitment to organizational values.
