Role Title: Project Procurement Buyer – Manager

The
Project Procurement Buyer – IT & Infrastructure is responsible for end‑to‑end procurement of IT hardware, software, licenses, cloud services, network infrastructure, cybersecurity solutions, and related professional services.
The role ensures timely availability of technology components aligned with project timelines, cost targets, and compliance standards. This position collaborates with project management, finance, and vendor partners to deliver technology sourcing aligned to business needs.
- Key Responsibilities
- Sourcing & Procurement
- Execute strategy procurement for assigned projects (Direct/Indirect).
- Source and procure IT hardware (servers, storage, network devices), software, cloud subscriptions, infrastructure equipment etc.
- Create and manage RFIs, RFQs, and RFPs for solutions and services.
- Conduct technical–commercial evaluations in collaboration with OEM solution architects/internal team.
- Negotiate pricing, SLAs, licensing terms, and contracts with OEMs and distributors.
- Vendor & Contract Management
- Manage relationships with OEMs (e.g., Cisco, Dell, HP, Microsoft, AWS, Azure, Fortinet, Red Hat etc.).
- Evaluate vendor capabilities, certifications, and support models.
- Ensure compliance with IT security, data protection (GDPR/ISO), and licensing policies.
- Monitor vendor performance related to deliveries, support levels, and SLA commitments.
- Project Alignment & Execution
- Work with IT project managers to define procurement milestones.
- Track and report procurement status, risks, and delays to project teams.
- Coordinate with logistics, warehousing, and IT operations for seamless delivery & implementation.
- Support creation of procurement budgets, cost forecasts, and consumption plans.
- Financial & Risk Management
- Analyse cost structures for licensing, subscription renewals, and hardware lifecycles.
- Drive cost optimization through competitive bidding, consolidation, and negotiation.
- Manage risks related to long lead times, supply shortages, licensing audits, and renewals.
- Ensure contract compliance with budget, TCO, and approved sourcing policies.
- Documentation & Compliance
- Prepare POs, vendor justifications, technical BoMs, and project procurement trackers.
- Ensure IT procurement aligns with organizational security, audit, and compliance frameworks.
- Maintain accurate records for licensing, renewal schedules, and service contracts.
- Required Skills & Competencies
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of IT hardware (servers, switches, firewalls, storage).
- Knowledge of enterprise software licensing (Microsoft, VMware, Oracle, Adobe, etc.).
- Familiarity with cloud models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) and subscription management.
- Experience with IT procurement tools & ERP (Oracle).
- Ability to understand IT architectures, BOMs, and solution designs.

- Experience with enterprise IT infrastructure, cloud, cybersecurity, and software licensing.
