ABOUT CUSTOMS BROKAGE AND COMPLIANCE
DHL Global Forwarding CBC team oversees shipments complying with the relevant customs laws and regulations, facilitating the smooth movement of goods across borders. Collaborating with AFR and OFR teams, custom department officials, and other external stakeholders for maintaining efficiency and compliant customs processes.
JOB SUMMARY
As a Manager of CBC- Field Operations, an individual plays a pivotal role in overseeing and optimizing various operational aspects within the field. This position entails coordinating and managing on-site logistics operations, including distribution, warehousing, transportation, and inventory management. The manager ensures efficient utilization of resources, timely delivery of goods, adherence to safety standards and resolving any operational challenges to ensure smooth and cost-effective operations. Additionally, the manager CBC collaborates with cross-functional teams, liaises with clients, and analyzes performance metrics to enhance operational efficiency and meet customer expectations effectively.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Operational Excellence
- Lead and manage the Field operations team for the region, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to company standards.
- Oversee the entire field operations process, monitoring its progress and implementing necessary improvements.
- Taking charge of supervising the team members for all relevant operations, efficiency optimization, and upholding the standards outlined in the one file, one operator methodology.
- Strategizing and organizing an efficient and compliant functional department in accordance with regulations and internal protocols.
- Identifying training needs and fostering opportunities for the continuous development of a highly skilled functional department.
- Ensuring that contracted suppliers comply with company quality procedures.
- Maintaining proactive communication and relationships with peers/superiors, promptly reporting any discrepancies, problems, or instances of non-performance or non-observance.
- Coordinating the processing of shipments and the handling of physical documents, ensuring seamless operations.
- Conducting regular tasks on CW1 for document and milestone updates, optimizing system utilization.
- Staying abreast of government/customs policies and promptly communicating any changes to the team.
- Cultivating cordial relationships with customs officials to facilitate smooth operations.
- Leveraging CW1 to enhance efficiencies and quality across all field operations processes by utilizing various features of the CW1 application.
Stakeholder Management
- Maintain open communication with peers and superiors, promptly addressing any issues or concerns related to stakeholders.
- Foster positive relationships with customs officials and government agencies to facilitate smooth operations.
- Liaise with customers to address inquiries, resolve escalations, and provide updates on regulatory changes.
- Advise stakeholders on relevant government regulations and compliance requirements to ensure alignment and mitigate risks.
Team Management
- Taking ownership of staffing responsibilities and managing contractors effectively.
- Cultivating a culture of quality, service excellence, and compliance within the team.
- Develop IKOs/KPIs with team members and monitor individual performance.
- Check your TeamsStation Metrics Widget, and ensure every file has an owner (1F1O).
- Managing staffing requirements at the station level to ensure operational effectiveness.
- Leading a team of customs specialists, providing guidance and support to foster their professional growth and ensure collective success.

WHO CAN APPLY
Must Have
- Bachelor's Degree in any field.
- 8-9 years of experience in a customs role.
- Experience in handling team members.
- Problem-solving skills to address field operation challenges.
- Proficient in Email writing and verbal communication with internal and external coordination.
- Efficiently manage tasks to meet deadlines and priorities.
Preferred
- G or F Card customs pass holder.
- Experience of working at a multinational freight forwarding company.
