Job Title: Director of Build, Deploy, and Release Management
Responsibilities:
Team Leadership & Mentorship:
- Lead, manage, and mentor engineers specializing in build, deployment, and release management
- Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment
- Conduct performance reviews and provide growth feedback
- Recruit, onboard, and retain top talent
Strategy & Planning:
- Define and implement the strategy for build, deploy, and release management aligned with technology and business goals
- Develop and maintain comprehensive process documentation
- Establish and track KPIs for team performance
- Identify and mitigate risks to the software delivery pipeline
Process Optimization & Automation:
- Improve efficiency through automation and optimization initiatives
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps)
- Develop monitoring and alerting systems for issue detection
- Promote DevOps principles and practices organization-wide
Infrastructure Management:
- Collaborate with infrastructure and security teams to ensure deployment stability and security
- Oversee configuration and maintenance of build servers and environments
- Maintain security protocols across the software delivery lifecycle
Collaboration & Communication:
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders in engineering, product management, and operations
- Address conflicts or roadblocks in the software delivery process
- Engage in cross-functional initiatives to enhance software development and delivery processes
