Manager / Asst. Manager - Automation

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer having exposure to Automation / Plant Engineering / Maintenance role. The candidate will be responsible for identifying automation solutions for fabrication process, studying feasibility & preparing technical specifications for various equipment and machineries, identifying and coordinating with equipment suppliers, techno-commercial evaluation of offers, coordination with stake holders for installation & commissioning, production trials and hand over.

Key Responsibilities:

• Identify opportunities for improvement in ongoing manufacturing processes and propose to automate with detailed work out for improvement in productivity/ quality/ safety .
• Participate in new equipment procurement processes from initial stage and carry forward the project till installation and commissioning of identified equipment.
• Work in close collaboration with internal stakeholders including production team, design team, procurement team, planning team, maintenance team and others.
• Initiate inquiries for various equipment's/parts/services by finalizing specification jointly with end user.
• Study and prepare detail technical and commercial comparisons (TBE & CBE) of offers received from suppliers.
• Co-ordination and follow up with equipment supplier for progress, dispatch and installation plan of equipment's/parts being procured, ensuring timely execution of individual project.
• Preparing layout for equipment installation in shop or yard area based on approval from manufacturing team, co-ordinate for necessary civil foundation activity.
• Prepare plan for each project and monitor the progress ensuring regular update to all the stake holders, subordinates, and department head.
• Maintain documentation and records relating to key responsibilities.
• Ensure high safety practices during project execution.
• Manage team of permanent or contract workmen ensuring safety inductions, attendance monitoring and regular availability for desired output.

Requirements:

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering with 5-7 years of relevant experience
• Strong knowledge of automation systems, equipment and machinery.
• Hands-on experience from conceptualization to commissioning of manufacturing process automation
• Awareness of key fabrication processes including Welding, Cutting. Coating
• Excellent problem-solving skills and analytical skills
• Effective communication and leadership skills

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in Heavy fabrication industry is desirable
• Basic Computer skills including SAP/ERP systems and other MS office applications.
• Basic awareness of applicable industrial standard like ISO / ASME / NACE will be added advantage
