Job Description – Manager/Associate Director, Independence
Role Overview
The Manager – Independence will support the firm's Quality & Risk Management function by managing key independence and compliance activities. The role focuses on ensuring adherence to regulatory and professional independence requirements, overseeing conflict check processes, and contributing to the continuous improvement of governance frameworks. The Manager will collaborate with cross functional teams, guide stakeholders on independence matters, and support the effective execution of risk management initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
* Manage relationship and conflict checks process, Non-audit services evaluation and independence clearances for diverse client engagements.
* Oversee day to day operations of core independence processes to ensure compliance with regulatory and internal standards.
* Support the administration of the Global Independence System (GIS) and related independence review activities.
* Contribute to the enhancement and implementation of the firm's Independence framework in alignment with applicable regulations and internal policies.
* Facilitate timely communication of independence related policies and requirements across teams.
* Identify opportunities to streamline and automate independence workflows for improved efficiency and control.
* Assist in the implementation of ISQM and QC 1000 requirements as applicable to independence operations.
* Support broader risk management initiatives and contribute to key projects within the Quality & Risk Management function.
Skills & Experience
* 6-8 years of experience in independence, compliance, quality, or risk management roles.
* Strong understanding of independence standards (SEC, IESBA,ICAI, SEBI, RBI, etc)., regulatory expectations, and quality management frameworks.
* Ability to analyze, streamline, and improve compliance workflows.
* Strong coordination and stakeholder management skills.
* High attention to detail with strong analytical and documentation capabilities.
* Ability to work effectively in collaborative and cross functional environments.
Qualifications
* CA / CS / LLB, or equivalent professional qualification in compliance, audit, or risk management (preferred).
* Demonstrated ability to manage independence or compliance processes with minimal supervision.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with internal teams and provide guidance on independence matters.
