Role Overview:

We are seeking a Manager AML Surveillance to strengthen our AML/CFT and market surveillance framework. This role will oversee transaction monitoring, supervise analysts, identify potential market abuse, and ensure compliance with SEBI, Exchange, and internal standards.

What You'll Do:

Trade & Transaction Surveillance

Oversee daily surveillance of equity, derivatives, and other market transactions to identify unusual or suspicious activities such as circular/reversal trading, pump-and-dump schemes, front-running, wash trades, insider trading indicators, and abnormal price or volume movements.

Review and close or escalate alerts generated by exchange and internal surveillance systems.

Client Due Diligence & Behavioural Review

Review client profiles, KYC, and trading behaviour against regulatory risk guidelines.

Conduct Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) for high-risk clients and perform periodic risk-based account reviews.

Suspicious Transaction / Activity Reporting

Identify red flags and prepare Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs) and Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) related to AML and market misuse.

Ensure accurate documentation and timely reporting to FIU-IND and MLRO.

Supervision & Quality Review

Provide coaching, training, and technical guidance on AML, market surveillance, and regulatory best practices.

Review analysts investigations for quality, consistency, and regulatory compliance.

Allocate daily tasks and ensure timely resolution of alerts and investigations.

Regulatory Compliance & Coordination

Ensure ongoing compliance with SEBI regulations, PMLA, and Exchange (NSE/BSE) surveillance guidelines.

Coordinate with Stock Exchanges and Depositories on surveillance-related queries and information requests.

Support regulatory audits, inspections, and compliance reviews.

Keep the team updated with regulatory circulars, new surveillance patterns, and emerging typologies in capital markets.

Policy, Process & System Enhancements

Support enhancements to AML and trade surveillance systems, including rule tuning and data quality validation.

Review and strengthen SOPs, workflows, and documentation related to AML/CFT and surveillance processes.

Assist in periodic client and product risk assessments.

What You'll Need:

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Commerce, Law, or a related field.

48 years of experience in AML, market surveillance, or capital markets compliance.

Strong working knowledge of SEBI, PMLA, FIU-IND, and Exchange surveillance frameworks.

Hands-on experience with market surveillance tools, alerts, and investigations.

Strong analytical, investigative, and report-writing skills.
