Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage complex consulting projects focused on P&C loss reserving, ensuring delivery is on time, on budget, and in full compliance with US GAAP standards.
  • Serve as the firm's subject matter expert on the Arius platform, leading projects that involve model reviews, implementations, or complex analyses within the software.
  • Prepare and present final reports and strategic recommendations on reserve adequacy and financial impact to senior client stakeholders, including Chief Actuaries, CFOs, and C-suite executives.
  • Build strong, lasting partnerships based on technical credibility and trust with key clients.
  • Formally manage, mentor, and develop a team of consultants and analysts, taking responsibility for their performance, technical growth, and career progression.
  • Actively partner with senior leadership in business development activities, including identifying opportunities and taking a lead role in drafting proposals and Statements of Work.
  • Contribute to the development of intellectual capital, such as white papers and industry presentations, particularly on topics related to US GAAP and reserving best practices.

Qualifications and Experience

Mandatory, Non-Negotiable Requirements:

US GAAP Reserving Expertise: 7-10 years of progressive P&C actuarial experience with a deep, specialized focus on loss reserving under US GAAP principles. Candidates must be able to demonstrate authoritative knowledge in this area.

Arius Software Proficiency: Expert-level, hands-on professional experience with Arius reserving software. Candidates must be able to independently lead complex projects, review sophisticated models, and mentor others within the Arius platform.

Other requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, or a related quantitative field.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to explain technical actuarial concepts to non-actuarial stakeholders (e.g., audit partners, client finance teams).
  • Credentials: Progress towards attainment of actuarial credentials.
  • Additional Knowledge: Familiarity with Statutory (STAT) reserving principles.
  • Prior Experience: Previous experience in an audit support or actuarial consulting role at actuarial consultancy is highly desirable.
  • Data Skills: Proficiency in data manipulation and analysis tools such as SQL, R, or Python is a plus.
