Position Summary

Bridgespan is seeking an experienced accounting professional to take on the role of Accounting Manager. This person would have overall responsibility for managing the general ledger for Bridgespan's US, Asia and Africa operations. The Accounting Manager will work closely with other finance staff in the standard processes of each part of the team, and regularly review and check work posted in the GL to ensure accuracy. The Accounting Manager will also work with other colleagues to ensure that appropriate documentation and support is maintained for relevant transactions. This role will report to the Associate Director of Finance, USA with a dotted line to Associate Director of Finance, A&A to focus on key financial processes at Bridgespan. The Accounting Manager is responsible for and not limited to accounts payable and receivables, audit, direct and indirect taxation, and operational support to the finance team in Asia & Africa and the US office. The Accountant will report to Accounting Manager.

Responsibilities and Duties:

TIME & EXPENSE (ORGANISATION WIDE) 15%

  • Oversee the monthly org-wide time and expense (T&E) cycle using Dynamics365 CRM, ensuring timely submission and reimbursement, as well as reviewing reports for accuracy and adherence to policy limits and proper coding in the Financial Edge accounting system.
  • Maintain T&E related training and FAQ material to ensure end users have the most accurate and helpful information available and conduct regular trainings and brown bags on the T&E process.
  • Support the maintenance of T&E in CRM
  • Reinforce financial data confidentiality.
  • Lead the effort to keep the global T&E policy updated and recommend changes as necessary.
  • Comply with financial policies and regulations.

ACCOUNTS PAYABLES (ORGANISATION WIDE) 15%

  • Oversee the Accounts Payable function, including obtaining approvals, ensuring proper coding, processing payments, and maintaining vendor files.
  • Ensure that payments are processed within the payment terms listed on the vendor agreement.
  • Reconcile the corporate credit card account reconciliation process for A&A Region
  • Work with Finance team to ensure correct allocation of expenses and invoices to various departments and grants.
  • Generate data and assemble reports on various aspects of Bridgespan's revenues and expenses, working under the direction of senior Finance team members as needed.

ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLES (A&A) 30%

  • Support finance team in client invoicing, maintain vendor contracts, follow-up with collection efforts, when necessary, help with client administrative requests and new client set up.
  • Reviewing internal revenue files, invoice tracking and Accounts Receivable schedule.
  • Work in close coordination with Grants and Contracts Manager, case teams and Development team on timely collection of invoices.
  • Review compiled reimbursed expenses for inclusion in client invoices.
  • Work with local third-party accounting vendor to ensure invoices are accurate and sent in a timely manner.
  • Review of reconciliation of bank transactions and accounts receivable transactions.
  • Creating Inter-company contracts for Transfer Pricing regulations

PAYROLL (A&A) 15%

  • Preparing of monthly payroll and relevant activities
  • Be point of contact for payroll related questions/changes.
  • Distribute paychecks to employees.
  • Post/maintain payroll details in the accounting system.
  • Maintain paid leave (vacation) schedules.
  • Preparing various returns related to payroll statutory compliance with laws of A&A.

AUDIT & TAXATION (A&A) 25%

  • Assist finance team in annual audit Work with local third-party accounting vendor to ensure a timely and successful audit.
  • Assist finance team in audit related queries.
  • Maintain/update related schedules.
  • Assist in creating/maintaining Transfer Pricing Study within each office where appropriate.
  • Preparing various tax returns related to Income Tax, GST & TDS related compliance.

Qualifications:

  • CA or Master's degree preferred (finance or accounting degree is highly desirable); with relevant work experience
  • Seven to Ten years of relevant accounting experience (nonprofit experience is an added advantage)
  • Thorough familiarity with standard accounting principles and GAAP
  • Strong Excel skills, including the use of vlookup, if statements, data validation, pivot tables
  • Familiarity with Blackbaud Financial Edge or other accounting software
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and appropriately prioritize tasks as necessary
  • Ability to work productively both independently and as part of a team to generate high-quality outputs consistently
  • Ability to interact with colleagues and clients at all levels within an organization
  • High degree of professional maturity, tact, and confidentiality required given access to confidential information and contact with Bridgespan leadership

Location and Remote Work Flexibility

All Bridgespanner's joining in Mumbai are expected to work in the Bridgespan Mumbai office at least 3 days per week. This policy is designed to offer meaningful opportunity for in-person relationship building and mentorship, while also offering staff considerable flexibility.
