Job Summary
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation, maintenance, and repair of plant machinery, equipment, and utilities. The role involves attending breakdowns, performing preventive maintenance activities, troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues, and maintaining maintenance records to minimize downtime and maximize equipment efficiency.
Key ResponsibilitiesEquipment Maintenance & Repairs
- Attend machine breakdowns promptly and perform necessary electrical and mechanical repairs.
- Diagnose faults in machinery, equipment, motors, control panels, and utility systems.
- Carry out preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities as per schedules.
- Inspect and maintain production machinery to ensure uninterrupted operations.
- Replace defective components and ensure proper machine functioning after repairs.
- Assist in installation, commissioning, and relocation of machinery and equipment.
Electrical Maintenance
- Perform electrical wiring, cable laying, panel maintenance, and troubleshooting activities.
- Inspect electrical systems, motors, starters, sensors, and control circuits.
- Ensure electrical safety standards are followed during maintenance work.
- Monitor power supply systems and report abnormalities.
Mechanical Maintenance
- Conduct lubrication of machines and equipment as per maintenance schedules.
- Maintain mechanical components such as bearings, belts, chains, pumps, gearboxes, and compressors.
- Carry out alignment, fitting, and assembly work when required.
- Ensure proper upkeep of tools and maintenance equipment.
Preventive Maintenance
- Follow preventive maintenance plans to reduce machine downtime.
- Perform routine inspections and identify potential equipment failures.
- Maintain maintenance checklists and service records.
- Recommend improvements for equipment reliability and performance.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of breakdowns, repairs, maintenance activities, and spare parts usage.
- Update maintenance logbooks on a daily basis.
- Report recurring equipment issues to the Maintenance Supervisor.
- Assist in preparing maintenance reports and documentation.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow company safety policies and standard operating procedures.
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) during maintenance activities.
- Ensure work areas remain clean and organized after maintenance tasks.
- Comply with all statutory and safety regulations related to maintenance operations.
Required Skills
