The primary purpose of your job position is to assist in supervision of the Maintenance Department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations governing our facility, and as may be directed by the Director of Maintenance, to assure that our facility is maintained in a safe and comfortable manner.
As the Maintenance Supervisor, you are delegated the administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability necessary for carrying out your assigned duties.
- Supervise the day-today maintenance functions of assigned personnel.
- Assist in the orientation and training of maintenance personnel.
- Ensure that an adequate supply of maintenance supplies is maintained to perform daily tasks.
- Ensure equipment is cleaned and properly stored at the end of the shift.
- Label or tag equipment contaminated with blood or other infectious materials prior to sending for repair or decontamination.
- Works beyond normal working hours and on weekends and holidays, when necessary, as well as in other positions as needed.
Experience
Must have working knowledge of the building and equipment repair.
Physical and Sensory Requirements (With or Without the Aid of Mechanical Devices)
- Must be able to move intermittently throughout the work day.
- Must be able to speak and write the English language in an understandable manner.
- Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and, at times, hostile people within the facility.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Requires lifting up to and over 100 pounds with assistance. Frequent carrying, pushing and pulling of tools and equipment.
- May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations.
