Deputy Manager – Maintenance is responsible for planning, executing, and controlling maintenance activities for C‑130J Super Hercules aircraft to ensure airworthiness, safety compliance, mission availability, and adherence to regulatory and OEM standards. The role includes technical oversight, manpower management, coordination with engineering and logistics, and continuous improvement of maintenance processes.
Qualifications
- B.E. / B.Tech in Aeronautical / Mechanical / Electrical / Avionics Engineering, Diploma in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME) with relevant approval.
Experience
- 13–20 years of experience in military / transport aircraft maintenance.
- 8+ Year of experience as Certifying staff. Hands‑on experience with C‑130J or equivalent transport aircraft (C‑17) or Civil Commercial airline experience is also preferred.
- Prior experience in line or base maintenance environment.
Responsibilities
- Aircraft Maintenance & Operations
- Plan, supervise, and execute scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities on C‑130J aircraft.
- Ensure compliance with Lockheed Martin maintenance manuals, IAF regulations, and CAMO/MRO procedures.
- Monitor aircraft serviceability, rectification of snags, MEL/CDL management, and maintenance release.
- Support line maintenance, base maintenance, inspections, modifications, and fault diagnosis.
- Technical & Quality Compliance
- Ensure adherence to AS9100 / ISO / DGCA / Military aviation standards as applicable.
- Review maintenance records, job cards, technical logs, and ensure accurate documentation.
- Coordinate with Quality, Engineering, and Safety teams during audits and inspections.
- Implement reliability programs and preventive maintenance strategies.
- Team & Shift Management
- Lead and mentor licensed engineers, technicians, and mechanics.
- Allocate manpower, manage shifts, and ensure optimal utilization of resources.
- Conduct toolbox talks, on‑job training, and technical briefings.
- Coordination & Stakeholder Management
- Liaise with Engineering, Logistics, Planning, and Supply Chain for spares, tools, and GSE availability.
- Coordinate with OEMs, vendors, and IAF representatives for technical support and defect rectification.
- Support AOG recovery and mission-critical aircraft availability.
- Safety & Continuous Improvement
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with SHE and FOD prevention practices.
- Analyze maintenance data to reduce repeat defects and improve reliability.
- Participate in process improvement, Kaizen, and cost‑optimization initiatives
