Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to ensure reliable operation, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting of mechanical equipment and systems. The role involves maintaining plant machinery, reducing downtime, and improving equipment performance and safety.
Key Responsibilities- Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance of mechanical equipment (pumps, compressors, boilers, conveyors, rotating equipment, etc.).
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical failures and implement corrective actions.
- Plan and execute preventive maintenance schedules and predictive maintenance activities.
- Supervise maintenance technicians and contractors during shutdowns and overhauls.
- Maintain maintenance records, reports, and spare parts inventory.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and statutory requirements.
- Identify opportunities for equipment improvement, cost reduction, and reliability enhancement.
- Coordinate with production, utilities, and engineering teams to minimize downtime.
- Support installation and commissioning of new equipment and modifications.
Required Skills & Competencies- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, rotating equipment, hydraulics, pneumatics, and lubrication systems.
- Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance tools.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals.
- Problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
- Familiarity with CMMS / SAP PM or maintenance management software.
- Good communication and team coordination skills.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience in power plants, cement, steel, sugar, chemical, or manufacturing industries.
- Knowledge of TPM, RCA, and reliability engineering concepts.
- Certification in safety or maintenance best practices is a plus.
