About the role
The Maintenance Associate is the hands-on problem solver at one of our boutique properties. At our scale, a maintenance associate is a generalist — you handle plumbing, electrical, minor civil, carpentry, and equipment upkeep, and you coordinate with specialist vendors only when a job genuinely needs one. You are often the difference between a small issue and a guest complaint.
Key responsibilities
- Attend to guest-reported issues — leaking taps, AC not cooling, TV not working, hot water issues, low water pressure, tripped circuits — quickly and quietly.
- Carry out planned preventive maintenance across rooms and public areas on a rolling schedule.
- Handle routine plumbing tasks: tap, flush, shower, drain, and geyser repairs; minor pipe work.
- Handle routine electrical tasks: switch/socket replacements, light fittings, MCB resets, fan and AC servicing coordination.
- Perform minor carpentry, painting touch-ups, and door / lock / hinge repairs.
- Maintain generator, water pump, STP/WTP, solar heater, and boiler — daily checks and logs.
- Monitor HVAC units, refrigeration in kitchens and bars, and coordinate AMC vendor visits.
- Own the maintenance store — spares, tools, consumables, and fuel stock; keep par levels.
- Maintain the maintenance log — complaints received, time taken, action taken, parts used.
- Coordinate with Housekeeping on out-of-order rooms and turnaround times.
- Support set-up and tear-down for events, outdoor dining, and seasonal installations (heaters, bonfires, garden lighting).
What we're looking for
- 2–5 years of hands-on maintenance experience in a hotel, resort, hospital, office complex, or similar facility.
- Working knowledge across at least two of: plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC.
- Ability to read basic electrical and plumbing schematics.
- Comfort handling generators, water pumps, and basic STP operations.
- ITI certification in Electrical, Plumbing, Refrigeration & AC, or Fitter trade preferred.
- Physically fit; comfortable with on-call duty including nights on rotation.
- Willing to live at or near the property — most of our properties are in hill stations or smaller towns.
- Basic literacy to maintain the maintenance log and communicate on WhatsApp; conversational Hindi.
