Job Title : Mainframe Tester with API Testing

Job Description:

We are looking for a skilled Mainframe Tester with hands-on experience in API Testing to join our QA team. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of mainframe systems (e.g., COBOL, JCL, DB2) and be proficient in validating APIs using tools like Postman, SoapUI, or REST Assured.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform end-to-end testing of mainframe applications and APIs.
• Design, develop, and execute test cases and test scripts for mainframe batch and online applications.
• Analyze JCL, COBOL programs, and DB2 databases for test data preparation.
• Validate API functionality, performance, and security using tools like Postman or SoapUI.
• Log and track defects using tools like JIRA, HP ALM, or Quality Center.
• Collaborate with developers, BAs, and other testers to ensure test coverage.
• Participate in system integration, regression, and UAT testing.
• Ensure compliance with QA standards and best practices.

Required Skills:

• Strong experience with Mainframe Testing (JCL, COBOL, DB2, VSAM).
• Experience in API Testing (REST/SOAP APIs) using Postman, SoapUI, or similar tools.
• Good knowledge of SQL and data validation techniques.
• Familiarity with job schedulers (e.g., Control-M) and log analysis.
• Hands-on experience with defect management tools (e.g., JIRA, ALM).
• Ability to write test cases and test scenarios from business/functional requirements.
• Good communication and analytical skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of API automation frameworks (e.g., REST Assured, Karate DSL).
• Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodology.
• Experience in performance testing or security testing is a plus.
• Banking/Finance domain knowledge is an advantage.
