Required Technical and Professional Experience:
- Strong knowledge of z/OS upgrade and maintenance
- Configuration and customization of base components including JES2
- Experience working in a multiple CPU environment
- Proficiency in troubleshooting high-priority and performance issues in z/OS
- Strong knowledge of SMP/E
- Good understanding of WLM, RMF, HCD, and ISV products
- Experience implementing secure networks and maintaining TCP/IP / VTAM
- Proficiency in REXX, Assembler, and JCL
- Familiarity with VTAM/TCPIP network administration
- Experience with tools like z/OSMF and/or Zowe
Preferred Skills:
- Install, upgrade, customize, and maintain z/OS (base and optional features)
- Manage IBM and ISV products via SMP/E and non-SMP/E processes
- Apply maintenance updates including PTFs, HIPER, and security fixes
- Develop and maintain REXX and Assembler scripts
- Maintain VTAM, TCP/IP, ACS routines, and storage management strategies
- Monitor system performance proactively and prevent issues
- Collaborate with team members to solve problems and drive improvements
- A Bachelor's degree is mandatory for this role.
