Mainframe Production Control Specialist

• Manage and monitor mainframe batch processes to ensure timely and accurate execution of jobs.
• Oversee and maintain job scheduling systems (e.g., CA-7, Control-M) to optimize workload and minimize processing conflicts.
• Utilize mainframe systems such as IBM z/OS, JCL, and TSO/ISPF for daily operations and troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to implement disaster recovery plans and maintain system uptime.
• Identify, analyze, and resolve production issues to minimize business impact and enhance system reliability.
• Create and maintain documentation for production control processes to facilitate knowledge sharing and team training.
• Proactively monitor system performance using tools such as OMEGAMON and SYSVIEW and address potential issues promptly.
• Participate in system upgrade plans and assist in seamless integration with new applications and features.
• Provide after-hours support to ensure prompt resolution of critical system issues and adherence to service level agreements (SLAs).

Mandatory Skills:

• Strong experience with mainframe systems (IBM z/OS, JCL, TSO/ISPF) and job scheduling tools (e.g., CA-7, Control-M, Autosys).
• Proficiency in COBOL, REXX, and CLIST programming.
• Knowledge of database management systems (DB2, IMS, VSAM).
• Familiarity with incident management tools (ServiceNow, BMC Remedy).
• Effective problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication skills for collaboration and reporting.
