Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Mainframe ISV Software/Application Support Engineer to support enterprise applications and ISV software products running on IBM z/OS environments. The candidate will be responsible for L2/L3 production support, troubleshooting, software maintenance, and operational support of Mainframe systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide L2/L3 support for Mainframe ISV software and enterprise applications.
- Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade ISV products using SMP/E.
- Troubleshoot job failures, abends, and production issues.
- Analyze SYSLOGs, dumps, and system messages for root cause analysis.
- Support JES2/JES3 operations and batch job monitoring.
- Coordinate with vendors for patches, fixes, and issue resolution.
- Work with infrastructure and application teams during deployments and production support activities.
- Maintain technical documentation and operational procedures.
- Participate in incident, problem, and change management activities.
- Support automation activities using REXX or JCL utilities.
Required Skills
- 4–6 years of experience in Mainframe Production Support or ISV Software Support.
- Strong hands-on experience with:
- IBM z/OS
- JCL
- TSO/ISPF
- SDSF
- JES2/JES3
- SMP/E
- RACF
- Experience in SYSLOG analysis and Abend troubleshooting.
- Experience supporting ISV products from vendors like Broadcom, BMC Software, IBM, Rocket Software, or OpenText.
- Basic knowledge of REXX scripting and automation.
- Familiarity with ServiceNow, Jira, and ITIL processes.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with CICS, DB2, IMS, or MQ.
- Exposure to Control-M, Endevor, ChangeMan, or Omegamon.
- ITIL certification is an added advantage.
