Mainframe Engineer

Our Refresh & Scrambling Team is the engine that creates fresh, realistic QA test data across all platforms. We need a seasoned Mainframe Engineer who can keep the existing z/OS environment humming, while also expanding his/her expertise into distributed (Unix/Windows) technologies. You will be the goto person for infrastructure upkeep, change/incidence management, security, automation, and documentation.

Mainframe Operation

s• Manage and maintain the current z/OS SYSPLEX infrastructure

.• Write, troubleshoot, and optimise JCL across multiple environments

.• Create and maintain ISPF panels and SDSF workflows

.• Operate the z/OS versioncontrol tool and support changemanagement cycles

.Job Schedulin

g• Administer ControlM (or equivalent) for batchjob planning, monitoring and recovery

.• Build and tune jobstream dependencies for datarefresh cycles

.DataManagement & Scramblin

g• Work with CAView (or similar) to mask and scramble production data for QA use

.• Coordinate with DB2/IMS owners when required (optional)

.Scripting & Automatio

n• Develop REXX utilities to automate routine tasks

.• Document scripts and procedures for knowledge sharing

.Incident & Change Suppor

t• Serve as point of contact for incidents affecting the refresh pipeline

.• Liaise with development, QA and infrastructure teams to ensure smooth change rollout

.Security & Governanc

e• Apply security best practices to mainframe and distributed assets

.• Participate in audits and ensure compliance with internal policies

.Documentatio

n• Produce clear, uptodate runbooks, design docs and SOPs for the team

.Distributed Platform Exposure (growth area

)• Gain handson experience with Unix/Linux scripting (Shell, Perl, Java, APIs)

.• Work with ControlM on nonmainframe environments

.• Learn Delphix (optional) for datavirtualisation
