Mainframe Developer

We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Developer with strong expertise in COBOL, JCL, and DB2 to support and enhance mainframe-based applications. The ideal candidate should be capable of understanding business requirements, translating them into technical solutions, and working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure high-performance and reliability of mainframe systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, DB2, and VSAM.
• Analyze business requirements and develop technical specifications and program logic.
• Perform impact analysis, coding, unit testing, and documentation of changes.
• Debug and resolve production issues in a timely manner.
• Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards.
• Create and maintain batch jobs, utilities, and system interfaces.
• Work closely with business analysts, QA teams, and other developers to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Ensure compliance with data security, regulatory, and performance requirements.

Required Skills:

• 46 years of hands-on experience in COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM.
• Strong understanding of mainframe architecture and batch processing systems.
• Experience with TSO/ISPF, File-AID, Endevor, or similar mainframe tools.
• Proficient in analyzing ABENDs, system logs, and debugging complex jobs.
• Experience in writing and tuning SQL queries in a mainframe DB2 environment.
• Knowledge of CICS and Rexx scripting is a plus.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience working in Agile/Waterfall development environments.
• Exposure to integration of mainframe with distributed systems or APIs.
• Experience in banking, insurance, or telecom domain is advantageous.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices in a mainframe context is a plus.
