TCS is hiring for Mainframe Developer

Desired Experience Range: 8+ Years

Job Location: Chennai / Bangalore

1. Strong hands-on experience in IBM z/OS mainframe application development and support.

2. Proficiency in COBOL (batch and/or online) including VSAM and file handling concepts.

3. Strong experience in JCL, job streams, scheduling, restart/recovery, and core utilities (SORT, IDCAMS, IEBGENER, etc.).

4. Database skills in DB2 (SQL, bind/package, performance basics) or IMS-DB (DL/I, PSB/PCB concepts).

5. Online transaction processing experience in CICS (BMS, COMMAREA, channels/containers, syncpoints) or IMS-DC.

6. Hands-on debugging and incident resolution using dumps, abend codes, JES spool/output, and application logs.

7. Good understanding of SDLC, change/release processes, and documentation practices; exposure to Agile delivery is a plus.

8. Ability to communicate clearly with business and technology stakeholders, write clear impact analysis, and support knowledge transfer
