Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, CICS, and DB2.
  • Analyze and understand business requirements related to life insurance, translating them into technical specifications and solutions.
  • Perform system analysis, design, coding, testing, debugging, and documentation of applications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, project managers, and QA teams, to ensure effective project delivery.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in a timely manner.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements in the life insurance domain.
  • Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards.
  • Stay updated with the latest technologies and advancements in the mainframe and life insurance sectors.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in mainframe development with a focus on COBOL, JCL, CICS, and DB2.
  • Proven experience working in the life insurance domain, with a solid understanding of life insurance products, processes, and regulations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with other mainframe technologies such as IMS, VSAM, and REXX.
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
  • Familiarity with modern development tools and version control systems (e.g., Git).
