Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Software Developer with a strong focus on Mainframe IMS DBA knowledge. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing software applications while ensuring the integrity and performance of database systems. Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement software applications in accordance with project requirements and specifications.
- Manage and maintain Mainframe IMS databases, ensuring data integrity, security, and availability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Perform database performance tuning and optimization to enhance application efficiency.
- Conduct regular database backups and recovery procedures to safeguard data.
- Monitor and troubleshoot database issues, providing timely resolutions to minimize downtime.
- Document database designs, processes, and procedures for future reference and compliance.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies related to software development and database management.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to team knowledge sharing.
Mandatory Skills
- Strong knowledge of Mainframe IMS DBA, including database design, administration, and performance tuning.
- Proficiency in programming languages relevant to software development (e.g., COBOL, Java, C++).
- Experience with software development methodologies and best practices.
- Ability to analyze complex problems and develop effective solutions.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
- Experience with other database management systems (DBMS) such as Oracle or SQL Server.
- Knowledge of cloud technologies and their integration with mainframe systems.
- Understanding of software testing and quality assurance processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications in database administration or software development are a plus.
