Mainframe Developer PL1

Role Overview

• Looking for an experienced Mainframe Developer with strong hands-on expertise in PL/I and solid working knowledge across core mainframe technologies.
• The role involves analysis, design, development, and maintenance of mainframe applications in a large-scale enterprise environment.

Job Duties

• Perform hands-on development and enhancement of applications using PL/I
• Work with mainframe technologies including IMS, COBOL, CICS, JCL, DB2, and VSAM
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions
• Debug, optimize, and maintain existing mainframe programs and batch processes
• Collaborate with technical teams to ensure seamless integration across systems
• Participate in code reviews, performance tuning, and production defect resolution
• Prepare technical documentation and ensure adherence to development standards

Qualifications

• 510 years of experience as a Mainframe Developer
• Mandatory hands-on development experience in PL/I
• Working experience in IMS (preferred) along with COBOL, CICS, JCL, DB2, VSAM
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to operate effectively in complex mainframe environments
• Good communication skills
