Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Developer with expertise in Mainframe technologies, specifically in Cobol, DB2, JCL, MQ, and CICS. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in software development, focusing on delivering high-quality solutions that meet our clients needs. This position requires a strong understanding of CICS, as it is a deal breaker skill for this role. The successful candidate will work collaboratively within a team to design, develop, and implement software applications while ensuring adherence to best practices and standards.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain software applications using Cobol, DB2, JCL, MQ, and CICS.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Perform system analysis and design to enhance existing applications and develop new features.
- Ensure code quality through thorough testing and debugging processes.
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
- Monitor application performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
- Document technical specifications, processes, and procedures for future reference.
- Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously improve development practices.
Mandatory Skills:
- Proficiency in CICS is essential.
- Strong knowledge of Cobol programming language.
- Experience with DB2 database management.
- Familiarity with JCL for job control language.
- Understanding of MQ for message queuing.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Agile methodologies.
- Knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC) processes.
- Familiarity with version control systems, such as Git.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
