Job Summary
Seeking a professional with experience in Mainframe technologies including JCL Enterprise COBOL and DB2 to support and enhance mainframe applications
Job Description
- Extensive experience in JCL for job control and batch processing on IBM Mainframe environments
- Proficient in Enterprise COBOL programming for developing and maintaining mainframe applications
- Strong knowledge of DB2 database management and SQL programming on mainframe systems
- In-depth understanding of mainframe architecture and batch job scheduling
- Ability to analyze and troubleshoot complex mainframe application issues
- Experience in performance tuning and optimization of COBOL and DB2 programs
- Familiarity with mainframe development tools and utilities
- Exposure to software development lifecycle and change management processes in mainframe projects
Roles and Responsibilities
- Develop test and maintain COBOL programs adhering to coding standards
- Create and manage JCL scripts for efficient batch job execution
- Design and optimize DB2 database queries and structures to support application requirements
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver solutions
- Monitor and resolve production issues related to mainframe applications and batch jobs
- Participate in code reviews unit testing and documentation activities
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies and ITIL processes
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior team members
- Assist in performance tuning and capacity planning for mainframe workloads
