Mainframe Developer - JCL / COBOL / DB2

• Design, develop, test, and implement mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, DB2, and VSAM
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and ensure that applications meet business needs
• Perform system analysis, coding, testing, debugging, and documentation
• Optimize and enhance existing mainframe applications for performance and maintainability
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues in a timely manner
• Participate in Agile ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives
• Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying and implementing process improvements
• Ensure code quality and adherence to coding standards and best practices
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and advancements in mainframe technology

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• 5 to 10 years of experience in mainframe development
• Proficient in COBOL, JCL, DB2, and VSAM
• Strong understanding of Agile Software Development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe)
• Experience with mainframe tools and utilities
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in financial services or a related industry
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools
• Knowledge of additional mainframe programming languages and technologies
