Mainframe Developer

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, and DB2
• Maintain and optimize existing mainframe applications to improve performance and efficiency
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to mainframe systems and applications
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and provide technical solutions
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including testing and deployment phases
• Document technical specifications, project plans, and system processes
• Stay updated on mainframe technologies and best practices to improve system processes
  
  

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• 10+ years of experience as a Mainframe Developer, with expertise in COBOL, JCL, and DB2
• Strong understanding of mainframe architecture and software development methodologies
• Experience with debugging and performance tuning of mainframe applications
• Familiarity with version control systems and applications management tools
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
