Job Description

The role combines Mainframe development and IT business analysis responsibilities, focusing on designing, developing, and maintaining mainframe applications while supporting business requirements and process improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, DB2, and IMS DB/DC.
  • Analyze business requirements and translate them into functional specifications for mainframe solutions.
  • Support integration of mainframe systems with modern applications via MQ or RESTful APIs using zOS Connect.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical and data-related issues in mainframe environments.
  • Participate in design, code review, and testing activities to ensure high-quality delivery.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, document processes, and support Agile delivery.
  • Ensure adherence to best practices in mainframe development, security, and deployment.
  • Provide guidance on process improvements and system optimization for mainframe applications.

Preferred Candidate Profile

  • 814 years of experience in mainframe development and IT business analysis.
  • Strong hands-on experience with COBOL, JCL, DB2, and IMS DB/DC.
  • Knowledge of scaled Agile methodologies is a plus.
  • Experience with MQ, RESTful API integration, OPC, IBM TWS, or RDz is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
