Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Mainframe Developer with a strong emphasis on Assembler programming. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing mainframe applications to meet business requirements. This role requires a deep understanding of mainframe technologies and a commitment to delivering high-quality solutions in a timely manner.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement mainframe applications using Assembler and other relevant programming languages.
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of mainframe applications with other systems.
- Perform debugging, testing, and troubleshooting of mainframe applications to ensure optimal performance.
- Maintain and enhance existing mainframe applications, ensuring they meet current business needs.
- Document technical specifications, processes, and procedures for future reference.
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.
- Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in mainframe development.
Mandatory Skills
- Strong knowledge and experience in Assembler programming.
- Proficiency in mainframe technologies, including JCL, COBOL, and DB2.
- Solid understanding of mainframe architecture and operating systems.
- Experience with debugging and performance tuning of mainframe applications.
- Ability to analyze complex technical issues and provide effective solutions.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with other programming languages such as C, C++, or Java.
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git, SVN).
- Knowledge of software testing methodologies and tools.
- Experience in Agile development environments.
- Understanding of database management systems and SQL.
