Mandatory Skills
- Strong experience (15+ years) in mainframe application development with proficiency in mainframe technologies such as COBOL, JCL, VSAM, CICS, DB2, IMS, ReXX, EZT etc
- Exposure to hybrid architecture with both mainframe and distributed applications
- Exposure to any performance tuning activities in Mainframe like API integration, monolith code componentization, SMF log analysis, Database fine-tuning etc
- Understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) methodologies and best practices and working knowledge in DevOps (CI/CD)
- Experience with version control systems and software configuration management tools
- Familiarity with testing methodologies and tools for mainframe applications
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and debug complex technical issues
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality code and solutions
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and priorities in a dynamic environment
Nice to have
- Knowledge of any modern programming languages and frameworks such as Java, .NET or Python and their integration with mainframe systems
- Understanding the principles of AI and its application in Mainframe Modernization
- Any exposure to Mainframe Modernization principles and toolsets like Rocket, AWS Transform etc
