Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled Magento Backend Developer with hands-on experience in Magento 2 development. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, customizing, and maintaining backend components of Magento-based eCommerce applications. This role requires strong technical expertise in backend development, API integrations, performance optimization, and system maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and optimize Magento 2 modules and extensions based on project requirements.
- Create custom plugins and preferences to extend Magento functionality without modifying core code.
- Develop event-driven solutions using Magento event and observer systems.
- Implement and manage scheduled tasks using Magento cron jobs.
- Build and integrate GraphQL APIs for headless commerce solutions.
- Develop and maintain REST/SOAP API integrations with third-party systems.
- Optimize application performance using caching solutions such as Varnish and Redis.
- Manage database indexing and optimize complex MySQL queries.
- Collaborate with frontend developers and QA teams for smooth integration and delivery.
- Follow coding standards, best practices, and quality guidelines.
- Participate in deployment and support activities in cloud or hosting environments.
- Troubleshoot production issues and provide timely resolutions.
Required Skills
- 2-4 years of hands-on experience in Magento 2 backend development.
- Strong proficiency in PHP, MySQL, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
- Strong understanding of Magento 2 architecture, MVC framework, and OOP concepts.
- Experience in creating and maintaining custom Magento modules and extensions.
- Hands-on experience with plugins, preferences, and observers.
- Knowledge of cron jobs and background task management.
- Experience with REST API and GraphQL integrations.
- Familiarity with Magento caching mechanisms.
- Knowledge of database indexing and query optimization.
- Experience with Git.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Skills
- Magento certification is an added advantage.
- Experience with Adobe Commerce Cloud environments.
- Knowledge of performance testing and profiling tools.
