Job Description

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) works for commercial building projects from planning through completion.
  • Review M&E drawings, specifications, shop drawings, and method statements to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Coordinate M&E activities with architects, consultants, main contractors, subcontractors, and relevant authorities.
  • Monitor project progress, quality, safety, and budget to ensure timely project delivery.
  • Ensure all M&E installations comply with Singapore codes, statutory regulations, and project specifications.
  • Identify and resolve technical issues, design conflicts, and site coordination matters.
  • Attend site, technical, and coordination meetings with stakeholders.
  • Manage and supervise M&E subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams.
  • Review and verify progress claims, variation orders, procurement schedules, and material submissions.
  • Conduct inspections, testing, commissioning, and handover of M&E systems.
  • Ensure all project documentation, reports, as-built drawings, operation manuals, and maintenance records are properly maintained.
  • Support project planning, resource allocation, risk management, and cost control.
  • Promote and maintain compliance with Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) requirements and company safety policies.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers and site staff.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • At least 8 years of relevant experience managing M&E works for commercial buildings or large-scale construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, including HVAC, ACMV, electrical distribution, fire protection, plumbing and sanitary, ELV, and building automation systems.
  • Good understanding of Singapore building regulations, statutory requirements, and industry standards.
  • Experience coordinating with consultants, authorities, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
  • Strong project management, planning, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management software. Experience with AutoCAD and BIM coordination will be an advantage.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced construction environment.
