Job Description

BDA Partners is the global investment banking advisor for Asia. We are a premium provider of Asia-related advice to sophisticated clients globally, with 30 years experience advising on cross-border M&A, capital raising, and financial restructuring. We provide global reach with our teams in New York and London, and true regional depth through our seven Asian offices in Tokyo, Seoul, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Ho Chi Minh City, Singapore and Mumbai. BDA has extensive expertise in the Chemicals, Consumer & Retail, Health, Industrials, Services, Sustainability and Technology sectors.

We are now seeking for Semester Intern Analysts in our Mumbai office, with the availability to work fulltime for 6 months.

Job Description

Successful candidates will support deal teams with a wide variety of tasks around our M&A advisory mandates. In particular, an Intern Analyst's work will typically cover the following:

1. Conduct research and analysis for:

  • Target profiles
  • Industry analysis
  • Potential buyer profiles
  • Comparable listed companies valuation
  • Comparable transactions valuation

2. Assist drafting of important pitch documents and marketing materials

  • Pitch books for potential transactions
  • Marketing documents for mergers and acquisitions mandates, such as teasers, information memorandums and management presentations

3. Attend meetings with clients and counterparties, and prepare concise, insightful notes on the meeeting

  • Prepare for meetings, such as writing agendas and descriptions of attendees
  • Participate in meetings and add value to the discussions
  • Prepare concise, insightful notes on the meeting

Job Qualifications

We are interested in candidates who meet the following criteria. Prior experience in finance or banking with MBA, CFA or CA is highly desirable. Priority will be given to fresh graduates or candidates with prior work experience.

  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Ability to multi-task and manage a variety of projects in a dynamic, team-oriented environment
  • An outstanding appreciation for accuracy of information and clean, perfect formatting
  • Consistently produce work to a high standard of quality, thoughtfulness and insight within prompt deadlines
  • Clear, confident social and communication abilities (both written and verbal) to interact in a natural, compelling manner with senior executives
  • Adherence to strict confidentiality
  • A strong interest in Asia and a desire to develop a career in Asian M&A
  • Good commercial sense and an interest and inherent curiosity in companies, their operations and strategies
  • Fundamental understanding of financial statements and valuation principles and techniques
  • Superior knowledge of advanced tools in PowerPoint, Excel and Word

After submission, candidates will be directed to take a mandatory 40 minute long assessment exam.
