Job Summary
We are seeking a Low Carbon & Sustainable Materials Specialist with a PhD in Civil Engineering (Materials), deep expertise in carbon-negative materials, LCA/TEA for Low-Carbon Construction Materials, carbon accounting, and Green Finance. The role leads low-carbon materials innovation in Singapore.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead applied research on carbon-negative cementitious materials, low-carbon concrete, recycled/upcycled construction materials, and circular economy solutions for infrastructure.
- Translate research outcomes into scalable, cost-effective materials for projects, reducing embodied carbon and enhancing sustainability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, finance, ESG) to evaluate green investment risks, carbon credit opportunities, and sustainable project financing.
- Identify carbon reduction hotspots and propose data-driven decarbonization strategies for materials and supply chains.
- Partner with project teams (engineering, procurement, construction) to integrate low-carbon material specifications into design, tender, and execution phases.
- Provide on-site technical support for sustainable material deployment, ensuring compliance with BCA Green Mark, LEED, and local sustainability standards.
- Collaborate with procurement to drive green sourcing of low-carbon materials, evaluating supplier ESG performance and carbon credentials.
- Contribute to the development of green construction material standards and best practices for Singapore and regional markets.
- Monitor global and regional trends in low-carbon materials, carbon markets, and sustainability regulations to keep CCCC at the forefront of green infrastructure.
- Other ad-hoc activities.
Requirements
- PhD in Civil Engineering, Sustainable Construction, or Environmental Engineering.
- Proven track record in low-carbon/carbon-negative materials R&D.
- Hands-on experience with LCA/TEA for Low-Carbon Construction Materials, carbon accounting, and green construction consulting.
- With experience in NEA & LTA and familiar with Singapore NEA & LTA sustainability standards.
- Strong technical skills: finite element analysis, material characterization, Python/MATLA.
- ESG & green finance knowledge.
