Job Description

Monthly films of twenty to forty minutes, shot in crowded rallies, wildlife parks, on river systems, in courtrooms and in studio. You take the rushes and make something people finish watching.

You will

  • Build the story from the footage- cold open, arc, ending
  • Assemble interviews that sound like conversation, not testimony
  • Grade, mix, title, and fold data graphics into the cut
  • Tell the field director what the next shoot is missing
  • Hold the line. Nothing ships that you would not sign.

You bring

  • 4–6 years on long-form- documentary, branded film, serious YouTube or OTT
  • At least one piece over twenty minutes you cut alone, end to end
  • DaVinci Resolve or Premiere at a professional standard, grade and mix included
  • A real sense of story. We can teach the subject. We cannot teach this.
  • Comfort with factual, number-heavy material

Good to have

  • Wildlife or natural history work -long lens, low light, long waits
  • Motion graphics for data
  • A history of working unsupervised to a deadline, and liking it
