We're launching a new YouTube channel about money. You'd be the long-form editor defining what it looks like, starting with episode one.
THE WORK
- Edit one 20-25 minute episode per week on US personal finance: credit card debt, budgeting, credit scores, and eventually investing
- Own pacing and retention across the full episode, with particular attention to the first 90 seconds
- Design motion graphics, animation, and data visuals end-to-end: charts, lower thirds, dollar figures, credit scores, before-and-after comparisons
- Color grade every episode for a consistent editorial look across the channel
- Design sound and music to support pacing, not blanket the episode
- Handle on-screen typography and visual continuity across episodes
- Deliver SRT captions with each episode
THE TONE
Think Johnny Harris or Patrick Boyle, not cable finance TV. We'd rather ship four videos a month that land than eight that don't. If an episode isn't working, we'll re-edit before publishing.
WHO YOU ARE
- 3+ years editing long-form YouTube content
- At least one channel in your portfolio at 50k+ subscribers
- Fluent in Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve
- Comfortable designing motion graphics and animation in After Effects or equivalent
- Strong eye for color grading and on-screen typography
- You can articulate why an edit works, not just that it does
- You check retention data on your work and iterate
- You care as much about sound design as picture
Bonus: prior work on finance, business, or interview-driven content. Film or documentary background.
