Job Summary
The Logistics Manager will be responsible for planning, implementing, and controlling the efficient flow and storage of raw materials, finished goods, and related information from point of origin to point of consumption. The role ensures timely deliveries, cost optimization, compliance with statutory requirements, and effective coordination with internal teams, transporters, and vendors.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and manage inbound and outbound logistics operations, including transportation and warehousing.
- Coordinate with production, procurement, sales, and finance teams to ensure smooth material flow.
- Negotiate rates and manage relationships with transporters, freight forwarders, and logistics vendors.
- Ensure on-time delivery of raw materials and finished goods to customers and plants.
- Monitor logistics costs and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising service quality.
- Maintain accurate records of dispatches, deliveries, invoices, e-way bills, LR copies, and PODs.
- Ensure compliance with statutory, safety, and regulatory requirements (GST, E-way bills, transport laws).
- Track shipments and resolve delays, damages, shortages, or customer complaints.
- Manage warehouse operations including inventory control, stock movement, and space utilization.
- Lead and train logistics staff to improve efficiency and productivity.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- 37 years of experience in logistics or supply chain management (manufacturing industry preferred).
- Strong knowledge of transportation, warehousing, and inventory management.
- Good understanding of GST, E-way bills, and documentation requirements.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and coordination skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, and logistics tracking tools.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
