Job Description

Logistics Manager

Building and scaling a damage-free, cost-efficient logistics network for large-format interiors.

Location: Bengaluru (with pan-India travel) ·

Function: Supply Chain / Logistics ·

Experience: 10 to 12 years ·

Reports to: Chief Supply Chain Officer

About the role

We are looking for a Logistics Manager who has built and scaled a distribution network from the ground up, not inherited or optimised an existing one. This role owns the movement of large-format, volumetric and damage-prone products (furniture, modular units, home durables) across metros and, critically, into Tier 2 and Tier 3 markets, where handling infrastructure is thin and the cost-to-serve is hardest to control. Success is measured by network reach, landed cost per unit, damage-free delivery and turnaround time at scale, enabled by strong, tech-driven visibility across the chain.

Key responsibilities

  • Design, build and expand the outbound and inter-facility logistics network, with a specific mandate to establish reliable, cost-efficient reach in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities.
  • Own the end-to-end cost-to-serve (freight, handling, warehousing and last-mile) and drive structural cost reduction without compromising service levels.
  • Establish handling protocols, packaging standards and load planning that minimise transit and handling damage for bulky, fragile, high-volume products.
  • Drive down turnaround time (TAT) across the network while simultaneously reducing SLA breaches.
  • Partner with product and tech to build visibility dashboards, automated handshakes between systems and partners, and tracking solutions that give real-time control from dispatch through to customer handover.
  • Build and manage the 3PL, transporter and last-mile partner ecosystem: onboarding, rate negotiation, SLAs and performance governance.
  • Set up the metrics and controls that matter (damage rate, TAT, on-time delivery, cost per cubic foot or unit, first-attempt delivery and lane-level P&L) and run the network against them.
  • Partner with procurement, manufacturing and customer experience to align dispatch, capacity and installation readiness.
  • Stand up logistics operations in new geographies as the business expands.

What we are looking for

  • 10 to 12 years in logistics, with demonstrable experience building a network from scratch rather than running a mature one.
  • A track record of extending logistics reach into Tier 2 and Tier 3 markets while holding cost down.
  • Proven ability to reduce handling and transit damage for volumetric, fragile or high-value products.
  • Demonstrated success in reducing TAT while lowering SLA breaches.
  • Experience working with product and tech teams to build visibility dashboards, automated handshakes and tracking systems that improve control up to handover.
  • Strong commercial instinct: negotiation, cost modelling and lane-level economics.
  • Comfort operating in ambiguity and standing up processes where none exist.

Preferred

  • Direct experience with furniture, home durables, appliances or comparable large-format, damage-prone categories.
  • Exposure to a high-growth or scaling environment.
