Logistics Manager

Baosteel Singapore Pte Ltd (Baosteel) is seeking an experienced Logistics Manager to oversee logistics operations for steel products exported from various production bases of Baoshan Iron & Steel Co., Ltd. to South Asia and Southeast Asia.

The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in ocean shipping and logistics management, strong knowledge of steel products and their shipping requirements, and excellent coordination and negotiation capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

. Manage overall logistics operations, including logistics arrangements and inventory management for steel products exported from various production bases of Baoshan Iron & Steel Co., Ltd. to South Asia and Southeast Asia.

. Manage logistics service providers and maintain relationships with major shipping and logistics partners.

. Monitor ocean freight markets and freight rates, conduct freight negotiations, and manage the conclusion and execution of logistics contracts.

. Manage freight cost verification and settlement and ensure logistics expenses are properly controlled.

. Coordinate logistics arrangements externally between Baosteel Singapore and headquarters, as well as internally among departments and subsidiaries under Baosteel Singapore.

. Develop and manage annual, quarterly, and monthly logistics plans and budgets.

. Coordinate ocean shipping, port operations, cargo loading and other logistics activities to ensure the safe and timely delivery of steel products.

. Identify and resolve logistics-related issues through effective communication and coordination with internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

. Extensive experience in logistics management, particularly in ocean shipping and international logistics.

. Strong understanding of the ocean shipping market and familiarity with major shipping companies and logistics service providers.

. Good general knowledge of steel products and familiarity with the shipping, handling, stowage and loading requirements of different types of steel products.

. Familiarity with major ports, terminals and shipping routes in China, South Asia and Southeast Asia.

. Experience in freight rate negotiation, logistics contract negotiation and logistics cost management.

. Strong logistics planning, budgeting and inventory management capabilities.

. Proficient in both Chinese and English, with the ability to communicate and negotiate effectively in both languages.

. Strong business negotiation, communication and cross-functional coordination skills.

. Strong problem-solving capabilities and the ability to independently manage complex logistics arrangements and operational challenges.
