Job Objective-
Own and lead end to end Domestic, export and import logistics (EXIM) for pharma packaging materials, ensuring on time deliveries, regulatory compliance, cost optimization, and seamless coordination with customers, customs authorities, and logistics partners
Key Responsibilities
Strategic and planning
- Contribute to the creation and execution of best in class logistics vision, strategy, policies, processes, and procedures to improve operational effectiveness and cost efficiency.
- Drive freight optimization for air and sea export and domestic consignments in line with customer delivery commitments and cost targets.
Core Functional
- Lead end to end export logistics (Air & Sea) for international customers across regulated and semi regulated markets.
- Manage import logistics for raw materials, spares, and capital goods, ensuring timely clearances and statutory compliance.
- Handle Letters of Credit (LCs), Advance Authorisation, EPCG, and coordinate with banks for export import transactions.
- Ensure compliance with DGFT regulations, Customs laws, ECGC requirements, insurance norms, and export inspection agencies.
- Own pre-shipment and post-shipment documentation, ensuring zero discrepancies and adherence to customer and regulatory requirements.
- Plan, manage, and evaluate domestic and export logistics operations, liaising with internal stakeholders, suppliers, logistics service providers, transporters, and customers.
- Negotiate freight rates and service contracts with transporters, shipping lines, airlines, CHAs, and freight forwarders in coordination with Corporate Commercial.
- Deliver effective solutions to logistics challenges while maintaining high service levels, quality standards, and budgetary control.
- Manage export and import operations by coordinating with clearing agents, shipping lines, and freight forwarders for timely container availability, dispatches, and smooth shipment execution.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying process gaps, inefficiencies, and cost-optimization opportunities.
Logistics Strategy & Process Excellence
- Implement best in class EXIM logistics processes, SOPs, and digital documentation workflows.
- Lead automation and process improvement initiatives to enhance visibility, compliance, and turnaround time.
- Drive strong cross functional collaboration with Sales, Quality, Finance, Manufacturing, and Corporate SCM teams.
People development
- Manage, coach and develop a high performing team that meets agreed objectives and delivers best practice results, added value and continuous improvements.
- Ensure IDP needs of department are executed.
- Ensure team engagement & motivation thru various engagement initiatives
