Role Overview
The Logistics Executive / Senior Executive will be responsible for managing end-to-end logistics operations, developing and managing logistics partners, and ensuring cost-efficient and compliant transportation of chemical products. The role involves optimizing logistics workflows, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance, and enhancing operational visibility through data analysis and dashboards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Vendor Development & Management
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard new logistics vendors and transporters
- Maintain strong relationships with existing vendors
- Monitor vendor performance and ensure service quality
2. Contracting, Agreement & Negotiation
- Negotiate freight rates and finalize cost-effective contracts
- Prepare and manage logistics agreements
- Ensure favorable commercial terms aligned with business goals
3. Logistics Operations & Coordination
- Manage end-to-end logistics for domestic and international shipments
- Coordinate with internal teams, vendors, and customers
- Ensure timely dispatch and delivery of materials
4. Cost Optimization & Analysis
- Analyze freight costs and develop cost-saving strategies
- Implement logistics cost models and track improvements
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in logistics efficiency
5. MIS, Reporting & Dashboarding
- Prepare regular MIS reports and performance dashboards
- Use advanced Excel tools for data analysis and reporting
- Provide actionable insights to management
6. Compliance & Safety
- Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements for chemical transportation
- Monitor safe handling of hazardous materials
- Maintain documentation and compliance records
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
- Expertise in logistics cost modeling and rate finalization
- Proficiency in Advanced Excel and data analytics
- Knowledge of chemical logistics and hazardous material handling
- Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to multitask and work under tight deadlines
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Commerce, Engineering, or related field
- 24 years of experience in logistics (preferably in chemical trading/manufacturing)
- Experience in handling domestic and international logistics
- Knowledge of ERP systems is an added advantage
