We are a premium sourcing and distribution business specialising in the finest nuts and dry fruits from across the globe. Our supply chain spans multiple ports and international partners, with operations driven by speed, quality, and relationships. We are a commodity-first business — bulk quantities, complex logistics, and on-the-ground execution are at the heart of what we do.
Role Overview
We are looking for a hands-on Logistics Executive who thrives on the phone, on the ground, and in the middle of the action — not behind a screen. This is a coordination-heavy role requiring constant engagement with port agents, transporters, clearing agents, warehouse teams, and quality inspectors to ensure bulk shipments move without a hitch from origin to delivery.
This role is best suited for someone from B2B logistics, manufacturing supply chains, or commodity trading operations — sectors such as agri-commodities, metals, chemicals, FMCG raw materials, or industrial goods. Candidates from e-commerce or B2C fulfilment backgrounds will not be considered.
What You'll Do
- Coordinate with CHA (Clearing & Forwarding Agents), port authorities, and shipping lines for import clearances and bulk cargo movement
- Manage end-to-end dispatch, loading, and unloading of bulk consignments — tracking every leg of the shipment in real time via phone and WhatsApp
- Liaise with transporters, warehouse supervisors, and cold storage operators to ensure timely and damage-free delivery
- Follow up persistently with vendors, suppliers, and logistics partners on ETDs, ETAs, and documentation status
- Coordinate with the quality team to align inspection timelines with cargo arrival and release schedules
- Handle freight bookings, LR management, e-way bills, and related documentation
- Flag and resolve ground-level escalations — delays, damage, shortages, or detention charges — with a sense of urgency
- Maintain daily shipment trackers and provide proactive updates to internal stakeholders without waiting to be asked
What We're Looking For
Must-Have:
- 2–5 years of logistics or supply chain experience in a B2B or manufacturing environment
- Proven experience handling bulk quantities — agri-commodities, FMCG raw materials, metals, chemicals, or similar
- Comfort spending the majority of the workday on phone calls with transporters, agents, and vendors — not sitting quietly at a desk
- Strong Hindi and Bengali communication; ability to manage vendors and ground staff with authority and clarity
- Familiarity with import documentation — Bill of Lading, Bill of Entry, CHA coordination, and freight management
- Ability to operate independently and escalate only when truly needed
Good to Have:
- Prior experience in the nuts, dry fruits, spices, or food commodities sector
- Familiarity with Kolkata port operations (KOPT / Haldia) or CFS/ICD processes
- Basic Excel and WhatsApp-based tracker management
This Role Is NOT For:
- Candidates from e-commerce, quick commerce, or B2C last-mile delivery
- Those who prefer working primarily on systems or dashboards over direct stakeholder calls
- Anyone looking for a back-office or administrative logistics role
What Success Looks Like (First 90 Days)
- You know every key vendor, transporter, and CHA by name — and they know you
- Shipment updates reach the team proactively, without anyone asking
- Delays are flagged early and escalated with a resolution plan, not just a problem statement
- Documentation is clean, trackers are current, and no consignment is ever lost in transit without visibility
